No. ActiveRecruiting is an online tool to aid you in the recruiting process. We believe no one can market yourself better than YOU!
How do I know which schools to send my profile to?
First step, group schools into 3 categories:
- Dream schools
- Realistic schools
- Fallback schools
How much does ActiveRecruiting cost?

How do I sign-up?
Creating an ActiveRecruiting profile is easy. Simply click "sign up" and complete our online form. Follow instructions for player versus recruiter profiles.
How do I upload videos to ActiveRecruiting?
Upload videos on a play-by-play or point-to-point basis to break up the video and allow navigational control for the user. This will be known as a video "clip". **
If you have multiple angles of one play, those can be put together as one video clip.
If you send us the video via mail, we can upload the video for you at an hourly charge of $75 to edit and upload the clips.
How can I edit and upload my highlight videos?
Highlight DVD/Complete Game DVD? (To download the software below, you may need to allow a pop-up for this website.)
- There is software you can purchase that can splice out your plays. We recommend Sony Vegas Movie Studio.
- Download the FREE Chopper XP software.
- ActiveRecruiting can splice your highlight DVDs at $75/hour.
Video from a camcorder?
- You will capture the video to a computer.
- Edit the plays using the software that came with the camcorder.
- Save each play a separate movie file to a location on your computer where you can easily find it when you are ready to upload it to ActiveRecruiting.
Hired videographer?
- Have your videographer create a DATA DVD which keeps each play/point as a separate file on the DVD.
- You can then load the DVD into a computer and upload the video.
- You have the videographer upload the video for you with your permission.
VHS tape?
- You will need to have it converted to a DVD.
- Then follow the Highlight DVD instructions above.
How will they know where I am in the video?
When you select the video that you want to upload you will enter a detailed play description for that video clip.
You should enter your position in that play description (ie. Player X made 35 yard touchdown catch).
Does ActiveRecruiting guarantee a scholarship?
No. However, we believe that if you work just as hard in marketing yourself as you do in training and competition, ActiveRecruiting can be perfect tool to help get you that scholarship.
